Echoes From the Space Between Shadow and Light

I keep returning to places most people pass in a hurry… Train stations, parking garages, tunnels, empty facades, stairwells after rain. Spaces built to move us through quickly, not to make us stop. Concrete surfaces, cold reflections, repeating patterns, and sudden moments of quiet tension.

Pause for a moment and you’ll notice. Right there, in the space between shadow and light, something slips through: a light left on, a figure in the distance, fog softening an edge. Moments where structure starts to feel uncertain, almost human.

I work with manual-focus lenses, metal bodies, older glass with imperfections. They slow me down and force me to look closer. Some lenses render with precision, others with softness or flare, but each one pulls me away from the polished efficiency of digital seeing.

I often use vintage lenses or diffusion filters to let light spill where it shouldn’t. To soften certainty and make room for atmosphere. They shape how I see the world through a filter of moods, memories, music, movies, and old comic books.

These photographs are not about landmarks or city planning. I search for presence in spaces that can feel empty and for something that quietly pushes back. Moments when structure turns into emotion.
